God’s Telephone Booth: Where Heaven and Earth Connect

Araceli: Have you guys ever wondered why you can talk and hear in your mind and nobody else around you can hear what you're saying? God put it there for a reason, because that's your telephone line to God. That's your phone.

Giovanni: Welcome to our first Bible and Wine podcast Bible study. We don't know what it's going to be, but it's going to be something. But all we know is that everything that the Lord has blessed us with, has shown us, has demonstrated, will be transmuted in this program, show, podcast. We'll see what it turns to.

Araceli: Well, cheers to that. Got my lipstick on it.

The Scripture: Matthew 19:26

Araceli: All right, so Matthew 19:26 is what this one's going to be about. And this scripture has been so key in helping to understand how to pull the impossible, the possibilities of miracles, the possibilities of God coming through or sustaining me in dark valleys. And so this is why we're going over this one, because when you get to understand what our Lord is saying here, it unlocks something. And so we pray it unlocks it in you once we're finished here. I pray it unlocks it in me because I'm going through a pretty dark valley right now.

Giovanni: Yeah, yeah.

Araceli: Okay, so this is a scripture where Christ says: "Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" Right now though, I want to make emphasis on the part that says "with man," right? Because I'm going to tell you, we need to know that part because most likely you want to know what's going to make it impossible for God's comfort. So it behooves us to know what will make it impossible. What does "with man" mean? And so do you have any idea on what that could mean?

Giovanni: You know, I never thought about that actually until right now when you said it. How does that make it impossible? I just thought that men can't perform miracles, but God can. So that's the way I understood it, was like with men nothing's going to happen because they can'perform miracles, but God can. So you're better off with Him. Just like that.

What "With Man" Means

Araceli: Though it can apply. It can apply, so I'm not going to throw everything you said out. It can when you have the context of everything He was talking about, but I want to bring to light a part of what I wanted to point out today, what I want to put the spotlight on. So "with man," when He says "with man impossible," there's an area He was pointing out where if we try to walk out a circumstance or difficulty that we might have in our attitudes and such without God, just by ourselves, our own dependence on ourselves, impossibilities were going to be the case. We couldn't get that far, right? Like right now, the things we're going through, you know, if we sit on worry, if we sit on anxiety, if we sit on sad—this is us trying to make it through our flesh. If we try to depend on ourselves to get from point B to point Z...

Giovanni: Yeah. I mean, we can't even forgive on our own, truly, for guilt. Like I've seen that in my personal life and even in the lives of some of the people that we've had with us here at the house for years, decades. "Oh, I forgave him," and he hadn't.

Araceli: Yeah. So something that you would think as simple as forgiveness, we can't do it by ourselves.

Giovanni: That's a great point.

Araceli: As you know, I had to forgive my sexual abuser—two of them. And I wanted to for years, I knew it benefited to do so, I wanted to, but I couldn't for years, decades. But with God, that became possible.

Unlocking "With God": Isaiah 26:3

Araceli: So you guys already understand what "with man" means: this dependence on the flesh in order to bring about what only God can, whether it be in you or in your circumstances. And so we've emphasized that. So now let's go to the "with God" part. When Christ said "with God all things are possible," we're going to zoom in, bold, and bring it to you on a granular level. Who doesn't want to unlock making all things possible, right? Well, what does that look like? Isaiah 26:3 unlocks this and it says: "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." This is exactly what Christ was saying when He said "with God all things are possible." Isaiah is telling you what to do to unlock this.

Your Telephone Line to God

Araceli: And so I think you've heard me share this a lot about the telephone line with Him, I want to share it with our viewers. I don't know if you guys have ever wondered and sat there and pondered—I ponder on the weirdest things, so I'm just that person.

Giovanni: I was about to say something, but I was trying to be nice. You wonder some weird things that most don't think about,

Araceli: but you could think you're crazy. That's why! And the funny part is that you would think I have a lot of time on my hands; I actually don't. I tend to think about things that nobody else has. My husband, for what, 16 years, usually will... So have you guys ever wondered why you can talk and hear in your mind and nobody else around you can hear what you're saying? You ever wonder that?

Giovanni: I have. I'm sure...

Araceli: let me answer that for you.

Giovanni: But once you brought it up, it makes you think. People, you know, you don't really realize it, but then you said it, I was like...

Araceli: So the reason it's there: God put it there for a reason. The reason you can talk in your mind and nobody else hear you is because that's your telephone line to God. That's your phone booth. That's the connection to Him—the secret place, as the Lord called it. And so when you keep in mind that this is where you connect, this is exactly why Isaiah 26:3 says "whose mind is stayed on You, on God, because he trusts in You, is the one who keeps him in perfect peace." Well, you and I have been through many darks. If we can move on to the dark valley...

The Superman Vision

Giovanni: I just had a vision.

Araceli: Go for it!

Giovanni: Probably for making fun of you... your mind just goes crazy and you come up with these things. Tell me how, when you said "phone booth," I got a vision of Superman, how he would go into the phone booth, and then when he would walk out of the phone booth... he went in as what was his name, Clark Kent? But when he would walk out, he would walk out as Superman! And when you said "phone," with Him everything is possible, I was like, "Huh?" You know, like, yeah! I don't know, I like that, cause I like Superman, all Marvel movies, I'm a big fan.

Araceli: This one, yeah, Super—you got the power down, cause you nailed it! All right people, he just gave you a great, great, great example through this movie, through a superhero, of what this causes. So yes, when you go into that phone booth and this is how you stay your mind, this is how to walk with God like Christ said.

Dark Valleys

Araceli: I mean, we're going through a dark valley right now, my husband and I. It's not pretty. And this is what brought us today, and I pray it can help other people, because we've been through many dark valleys. We're going through one right now, and what the Lord is giving us through the circumstance—I know we used to have addictions, we used to fall into depression when this would be one of those situations. Then I would just be like, "I am not waking up," I'd just stay in bed, cocktail up and just go back to sleep.

Giovanni: Yeah, yeah, and then wait a couple days, and just so-and-so, right? Self-destruction. We would not be drinking to enjoy a little bit of wine; we'd be drinking to get drunk.

Araceli: Yeah. And like we tell people, the Bible does not say do not drink; it says do not get drunk, which is a big difference.

Giovanni: And like we always say, everything that's in the Bible, it's not because God had nothing better to do, he's learn to put all these rules. No, it's for our own good. Wine is actually healthy. A lot of Europeans drink wine once a day and they're very healthy.

Araceli: Yeah. But if you overdrink, if you get drunk, now you're going to act and do something stupid. You're going to get into a car accident, you're going to get a DUI. So everything that's in the Bible is well and good. But going back to that, back then we would have drunk to get drunk, and then now we're even more depressed or doing something that's going to make us regret even more. Yeah, yeah.

Giovanni: But with the circumstance we're currently going through, I think back in the day you would have visited a lot of the things—our addictions, the partying, right, the extravagant lifestyle, or the depression, the PTSD...

Araceli: Oh my gosh, not sleeping! How was that one? So this dark valley that we're going through, this is where I was reminded, and so I pray that this helps anyone out there that's going through their own dark valley, because this is the key. This is the key that is sustaining us right now to not go into destruction mode, and it's sustained us not only through this circumstance—we've had worse. Walking in this is what's given us the supernatural ability to go into that freaking phone booth, pick up the God telephone line, and come out Superman! Like Superman! Let's do this!

Giovanni: Yeah, and so you're by kryptonite...

Araceli: Yeah, that was good. It's not every day your husband says that. I tell you...

Why It Works: Proverbs 4:23 and Psalm 16:11

Araceli: So we can tell you exactly why this works. Why picking up that phone line and staying with your mind focused on God, just like Isaiah says of the scripture we just read, why it works. Proverbs 4:23 and Psalm 16:11 reveals why it works. Christ of course knew it, this is why He said it, and that all things will be possible. So Proverbs 4:23 says: "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." And Psalm 16:11 says: "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." You see, our hearts are the gateway to the springs of life, the Spirit of God. Keeping those channels open, those gateways open, is what's going to make the flow—those springs of life, living waters—flow not only for you, but for those around. And I'm not saying it just to say it; my husband just witnessed this today once again in the nine years we've been walking and serving the Lord and learning about Him. Are we good at it? No. But let me tell you, it works every time. Do I pout and cry? Yes I do, and I did. Gathered myself, went in my tears, and came back with my telephone line open... And my cheek... He said, "It's beautiful what you do, you know."

Giovanni: I saw that man that said—and then I showed you the video—a strong woman is the woman that in the middle of the night will just take herself apart and cry and pray, but not show it. Or in the shower cry and pray, but not show it. You know, when you come to me, you give me that strength to keep on going, and it's beautiful what you do. So no, I'm serious when I say you're okay. You know, you're able to grab that strength through that connection that you have with the Lord, and you transmute that to me. Cause see, my connection is not as strong as hers. I'm trying, I'm earnest in trying. But she does help me get to that next level.

Araceli: And the heart, as another proverb says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." Our heart would be our subconscious mind, and the thoughts that we have, unfortunately for most, which are negative thoughts, bring us down.

Giovanni: And then you got the enemy and his demon friends. Like we say, you know, there's a possession, but there's an oppression, and there's a depression. There's different levels of the same spirits trying to bring you down, cause he's only to steal, kill, and destroy. And in moments I guess we self-destroy, we self-destruct. But when you stay connected to Him, you know, you can overcome that.

Araceli: Yeah, and it's... that's why the Bible tells us "Guard your heart, for out of it flow the issues of life." It's this, yeah, yeah. Issues of life—it springs forth, which we read this earlier, yeah. And so this is why to maintain that connection, because it is a gateway, it is a channel. And so kind of... I want to get into what... when I went like that, I'm like, "Not yet, don't do that, not yet." All right, stay tuned, stay tuned! Don't screw it up, girl.

Guard Your Heart: The Gateway

Araceli: So our hearts are a gateway, right? And they're the gateway so that you can keep your heart open to Him. With that telephone booth, on that phone line with Him, you stay there so that He can pour out into your circumstances, like we shared, because His presence—the Bible said, we just read the scripture—in His presence there is fullness of joy. You see, nothing can stay the same in His presence. That's what that scripture is saying, that Old Testament scripture. It's saying that nothing can stay the same in His presence. I didn't stay the same in His presence once I went to Him. This circumstance that could have distracted me and my husband... I picked up that telephone line after I had a pity party, picked up that telephone line. I didn't stay the same once I was in His presence. I left everything at His feet—everything that was burdening and worrying me at His feet. And what He gave me in return... cause now guess what? There was nothing taking up the real estate. And that's so important for you guys to know, too. You have to be willing to say, "Okay God, here's my worry. I know You're more powerful than this circumstance, than this worry, and You will come over, You will overcome the circumstance. Here it is, I give it to You, cast it off of me." Now there's available real estate for Him to deposit and fill you with that presence that you were before.

Giovanni: Yeah, and then she got me in a three-way call with the Lord, and now I'm connected as well. You know, and it just reminds me of how a sun would be God, and at night we don't see the sun, but the moon reflects the rays of the sun to give us some light. And that's like the way I see it: it's like God reflects His light through you onto me, and it's beautiful. And that's what we could do with others. Sometimes I'm like my little dim light, and it's still some light for others, you know? And then it's beautiful, and like you have patience... Wow, yeah. As you know I've shared, so yeah.

Araceli: No, I like your analogy—spot on, man! That's what you can be for others when you go and connect to that phone. You know, back in the day, let me tell you, we would not be here trying to give you guys some of what has helped us and is helping us right now. These circumstances, we'd be rolled up into bed, depressed, cocktailing, or partying, just trying to numb it with everything out there that we could, or trying to figure out how to go around and do things on our own with our own efforts, and hit even bigger walls or danger zones.

Giovanni: Danger zones! Sorry.

Araceli: Been there, done that. Yeah. So for this reason, our Lord reinforced this truth when He told us that only with God all things are possible. All things are possible! I'm excited right now. I'm excited right now because I did just that. This circumstance... by the way, the circumstance that we're talking about that we're in, it hasn't fixed itself. It's still the same as it was when we first realized it. But I'm excited because I've seen it happen before historically. My God has come through when I do this, and He'll come through again. Yep! Guess what? I could drink to that, and I could enjoy my day, and I could smell the flowers, I could sit with my dogs and enjoy the moments with them, sit with my husband and enjoy the moments with him as if this wasn't going on. Not because I'm delusional, but because I've seen Him come through again, and again, and again, and again, historically!

Giovanni: Yes!

Araceli: By me staying focused on Him, grabbing that telephone line, leaving it all at His feet, and knowing that He's pouring already, because I'm still connected. He's pouring right here, right now, in me, through me, and around me. Cause in His presence there is joy forevermore. There's supernatural things happening in the realm that you're in. This is where Heaven connects to Earth. And so... okay, already...

Don't Make the Wrong Call

Araceli: Okay, so you can't stay the same in His presence. You guys know about that telephone booth, right, that you pick up, and this is how you stay with the connection. However, you get in that telephone booth and make the wrong call... You know where I'm going! You could be in the telephone booth on a call with the wrong dude. The dude that the Lord saw—he came just to what, steal, kill, and destroy? I think we all know that scripture. And so you can also be there with him talking. And guess what? That is also a gateway that you just made yourself into for him to deposit everything that he is: fear, worry, anxiety, depression. Maybe for... you know, and I've had some brothers and sisters, in case you're thinking, "Well, the enemy can't talk to you." Oh yeah, he can!

Giovanni: And we've had that with brothers and sisters, and we have to point to John where it says they will hear the enemy's voice, but they won't follow. So he's literally stating that we will hear the enemy's voice, but we don't have to follow, which is what you're saying.

Araceli: Yes, that's a great scripture, really brings this together.

Whom He Can Devour

Araceli: And he's always looking whom he could devour. Key word, key word: whom he can devour. You think he's devouring me right now? Cause he can't! Cause he can't! I went to my phone line, my phone booth, and I picked up, made the right call to the One where I can connect in that place. And He can bring that joy of His Spirit, His Holy Spirit, in me, through me, and around me. And I'm staying connected, I'm letting Him get on the line, He could two-way call me all day. He could try to get through... Yeah, I see the incoming call, I ain't picking that up though! Not picking up!

Giovanni: In fact, and it's two key words: whom, and he's like. A lot of people say "Oh, he's a roaring lion." No, no, he's like—meaning a lot of talk and no real power behind it, because the power that he will get is the power that we give. So he's like a roaring lion, seeking whom he can devour—he who allows himself to be devoured.

Araceli: Yes! Great, you got the crown, tip it over, keep it on, keep it on! Don't give him your crown, that's what he's trying to take from you. Yeah, and so if he's taking your crown right now, you go and grab that phone booth, and you just call your Father in Heaven, and watch—your crown will come right back to you! Wait a minute, I'm putting it right back!

Giovanni: I'm drinking to that one! White tastes better.

Araceli: Oh let me tell you, it always tastes better when I preach.

Giovanni: You always preach better when you have some white, since you woke up a little bit.

Araceli: Oh, it's happened. This got me in trouble when I first tried... When we first converted, remember I was still getting drunk because I was trying to figure out my journey. And in the process of it, it'd get out of hand a bit with the preaching. Don't get me started on any type of spiritual conversations because I just take it way too far. Yeah, but I've learned it, I've learned my limit.

Only With God: All Things Are Possible

Araceli: Okay, so the enemy, right? We could pick up, we could go into that phone booth and call the wrong dude. You want to call God! All right, so Christ said only with God all things will be possible. So in other words, only by you keeping your mind on God, having total dependence on Him, will His Spirit affect you in here, but also allow for that channel gateway to also flow outside of you and your surroundings. Get ready for some very supernatural things to occur—miracles that you just never thought possible, ways that He comes through in ways that you can't even imagine.

Giovanni: I'm reminded right now of that scripture that says that we can't fathom what God has in store, what minds can't see, ears haven't heard, we can'fathom the things that He has.

Araceli: Yeah, for those who love Him, yes! And it goes right back to Yeshua's scripture, what He spoke, what He said about "with God all things are possible." Those possibilities... He's pointing you to miracles, He's pointing you to supernatural things happening in your circumstances and within you. Right? This is where the supernatural peace happens, so it's surpassing—peace that surpasses all understanding. And so we wanted to share this with you guys. This is so important in our walk, guarding our heart, and you know, to keep us in God's Spirit in those dark valleys. All right, so you guys go into your telephone booth, pick up that phone line, and connect with Father God so that you guys can come out of that telephone booth like... go in with a dark suit, black tie, and dark nerd glasses, and come out like Superman!

Giovanni: That's right!
